• 64, 624 results under investigation

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the released of results of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Its Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, announced the release of the results at a press conference in Abuja, on Monday.

He asked candidates to start checking their results from Tuesday, 7am, using the unique code approved for this year.

He asked candidates to use the phone numbers they used to register for the UTME to text RESULT to 55019/66019 for their result.

He said: “The Board is today (Monday) releasing the results of 1, 842, 464 candidates. 64, 624 results are under investigation for reasons of; biometric verification (2, 896 candidates); procedural investigation of candidates (4, 594); alleged examination misconduct (78); and centre-based investigation (57, 056) in 18 CBT centres: Edo 12; Akwa Ibom 3; Delta 2 and Kwara 1.

He said the analysis of the results released so far indicated that 8,401 (0.5%) candidates scored 300 & above; 77,070 (4.2%) scored 250 & above; 439,974 candidates (24%) scored 200 & above; while 1,402,490 (76%) scored below 200.

“Out of the 1,842,464 released results, a paltry 0.4 per cent scored above 300 while 24 per cent scored 50 per cent (200/400) and above.

He maintained: “There is no need to approach any CBT centre or cybercafé to check results. The following are the responses to be expected, hence a candidate with a result will receive the message: ‘Dear “Candidate X”, your result is as follows (details will be provided). Those being processed and those absent would receive ‘under processing’ and ‘absent’ respectively.”
