Former Lagos State Military  Administrator, Rear Admiral Ndubusi Kanu (rtd.),  has said that  Nigeria by now would have attained greatness if the historic June12, 1993 Presidential Election was not annulled.

The election, which has become a watershed in Nigeria’s  political life,  was later annulled by the military administration of Gen. Ibrahim Babangida.

Ndubusi  was speaking  in Ikeja, Lagos State, on the occasion of the commemoration of  June 12, 1993, organised by the Lagos State Government, Office of Civic Engagement).

While lamenting the annulment, which he said had done more damage to the socio-economic and political fortune of the country, Ndubisi also  said  a thick cloud is hanging in the horizon in the country.

However, he said the situation could still be salvaged “and that can only happen if we Restructure. Restructure, is no re-inventing the wheel, it is a return to a federation of different peoples”.
