Gun men were on rampage again in Imo State as a traditional ruler, Eze Victor Ijioma from Orsu Obodo in Oguta and another traditional prime minister from Oguta Local Government Area were reportedly killed in separate strikes on Thursday.

A source who disclosed the unfortunate incident to our correspondent said that the monarch who was returning from a meeting in Owerri was ambushed at Umuamaka junction in the neighbouring Izombe town,by his assailants and was shot several times till he died .

According to the source,the assailants who were not satisfied with his death, went ahead to set the corpse ablaze inside his car.

Similarly, the Mgbele Traditional Prime minister whose names could not be confirmed was said to have been killed in his town in same Oguta council area.

Their deaths according to the source, have caused great fear among the people, resulting to mass exodus from the community.

“The Eze of Orsu Obodo was accosted while he was driving at Umuamaka junction in the afternoon. They shot him and set him ablaze inside his car and immediately zoomed off.

When contacted, the Imo police spokesman, Henry Okoye, said he had yet to be briefed as at the time of the report.
