Bandits terrorising parts of Kaduna State have reportedly killed one Saminaka Garba and abducted 31 others including 24 women, in their latest onslaught on Kokob village, Kufana Ward in Kajuru Local Government area of Kaduna State.

As of the time of filing this report, both the Kaduna State Police Command and the State’s Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, have not made any public statement on the development that happened on the eve of Saturday, June 8.

Locals in Kajuru have been wondering why it appears so difficult for the security operatives to protect their lives and property against the attackers who have turned the local council into their preying field where they kill, maim, and kidnap at will.

An unofficial but credible source in the area who spoke in confidence hinted that the community had not heard from the kidnappers barely 48 hours after the incident.

The source gave the names of the abductees as Elizabeth Bulus, Cecilia Paul, Amina Zacharia, Japhet Amos, Lami Basiru, Namadi Basiru, Goodluck Basiru, Martha Kadunah, Samaila Maitalata, Jinkai Samaila, Helen Magaji, Rejoice Magaji, Monica Fidelis, Amina Ahmed, Yakubu Kadarko.

Others are Victoria Simon, Safiya Simon, Believe Bawa, Lami Kayafa, Talatu Samaila, Laraba Samaila, Linda Samaila, Ruth Simon, Anna Tanko, Titus Mainasara.Alhaki Markus, Alice Markus, Felicia Sambo, Amina Dawaki, Margaret Sambo, Martha Amos.

“The government of today should do the needful in protecting its citizens because abduction and killing of people have now become a daily occurrence in Kajuru.

“Farming activities have been halted in many agrarian communities that used to produce grains in commercial quantities because farmers are now living in fear of the bandits.

“We pray for the repose of the soul of Saminaka and the safe return of our abducted brothers and sisters”, the source added.
