• PDP guber candidate decries irregularities

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, have commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for started the election earlier in the state.

Bagudu who voted at his polling unit, Mai Alelu at about 11am, in an interview, noted that there was improvement on the presidential election in term of logistics and staff arrival at the various polling units.

He expressed satisfaction for the conduct of voters, security agencies and other stakeholders during the exercise.

Malami who voted at his polling unit Garka Na Gambo at about 11:30 am, also lauded INEC for improvement in its performances during the governorship poll and Assembly polls.

Malami who noted pockets of complaints at few polling units, stressed that “generally, there is a lot of improvement today.”

 

There was a large turned out of voters at some polling units across Kebbi State during yesterday’s elections.

Our correspondent observed that accreditation and voting started between 8am and 8:30 am in most polling units.

 

At the Mai Alelu polling unit where Governor Bagudu voted, accreditation and voting kicked off concurrently.

While speaking on prompt resumption of INEC officials at the polling units, wife of the state governor, Hajia Aisha Atiku Bagudu, who voted along side Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu at about 10 am, commended INEC officials for early commencement of voting and accreditation.

 

She also lauded the women for coming out in their large numbers to vote.

 

PDP governorship candidate in the state, General Aminu Bande, disclosed that he had received a lot of complaints from various polling units especially in the villages about the ballot materials snatching and other irregularities.
