The former vice president of Nigeria and the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed doubts over INEC’s ability to carryout a free, fair and credible elections.

Atiku said he has not seen any positive signs that INEC has done anything to improve the conduct and process of elections in the country.

Atiku made the remarks while casting his votes at his polling unit in Yola, Adamawa.

Atiku said, “I have not seen anything that INEC has done to improve its processes from the last elections, what I have seen is far below expectations.”

Voting started on time in several voting polling units in Adamawa and elections officials were seen early and on time at many voting centers where acreditation, and voting commenced in good time.

It is however clear across several polling units that voters turnout is quite low compared to the presidential elections.
