Aspira Nigeria Limited, the makers Viva detergent brands yesterday, donated a multi -million Naira Laundromat to Bayero University, Kano.

The ultra modern facility, consisting of 40 washing machines and other washing accessories, will provide free laundry services to students and members of the university community.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the old site of the University, the General Manager of the company, Abbas Jafar said that the initiative was part of Aspira’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.

 

He added that the company believed in the power of education to shape the future of the nation adding that,.

Supporting students in their academic journey is crucial for building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria,”.

 

The Head of Advertising, Aspira Nigeria, Lynda Aguocha said that the facility was a testament to the company’s commitment to making a positive impact on the students’ lives.

She disclosed that the facility will take the burden of washing clothes away from shoulders of most of the students, hence would give them enough time to concentrate on their studies and personal development.

She revealed that similar facilities had been donated to the universities of Lagos and Ibadan, earlier in the year, adding that the same gesture has been planned for the University of Benin, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, University of Abuja in the near future.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor, Bayero University, Kano, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, observed that the facility was a reflection of the spirit of collaboration, innovation, generosity and cooperate social responsibility.

 

He added that the laundry facility would undoubtedly enhance the quality of life for the students and staff of the university while describing it as a significant milestone in the University’s efforts to improve the quality of infrastructure and services in the institution and enhance the experiences of their students

 

While expressing his appreciation to the Aspira Nigeria Limited, he stated that, “This project is not merely a laundry facility, it is testament to the positive impact that cooperate partnership scan have on educational institutions.
