- Declare Support for President’s Renewed Hope mantra

The political stakeholders, opinion leaders and people of Asari-Toru Local Government Area (ASALGA) of Rivers State, have declared their total commitment and support for President Bola Tinubu to actualize the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.
They made the pledge following the appointment of their son, Dakorinama Alabo George-Kelly, as the Director General of Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), during stakeholders’ meeting in Asari-Toru LGA of the state on Monday, where they also declared their unwavering loyalty to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, stating that they would work with him always.
In a communique with 42 signatories read by Igonibo Emmanuel Thompson, the people said that their appreciation was borne out of the innate and habitual character trait of gratitude associated with the citizens.
He said: “The meeting, which was born out of the innate and habitual character trait of gratitude associated with Asari-Toru people, reviewed the appointment of Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George-Kelly, its positive multiplier effect on our people, as well as the overarching love and benefits the Asari-Toru are effusively enjoying owing to the purposeful political leadership superintended by the political leader of Rivers State, His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.”
Thompson, while briefing journalists, said Asari-Toru people unanimously resolved to support President Tinubu’s administration and the FCT Minister, Wike, for recommending their son, George-Kelly, for the appointment.
They resolved: “With immense joy and unreserved gratitude, we express our profound appreciation to His Excellency, President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, for appointing our own son, Dakorinama Alabo George-Kelly, as the Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).
“We also thank our beloved leader, the immediate past governor of Rivers State and the serving Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for finding our son worthy of nomination.
“His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has always demonstrated his unwavering love for the Kalabari people and the Asari-Toru people in particular. This is evident in the choice and recommendation of our son for appointment, among the diverse tribes and tongues that make up our country, Nigeria.
“His Excellency Nyesom Wike’s facilitation of this appointment further underscores his commitment to fostering collaboration and progress across our region. As expected of us, we wholly appreciate his tireless advocacy and support for our communities and people.
“Asari-Toru Local Government has long yearned for such a rare opportunity, and today, we stand united in celebration. Unanimously, we reiterate our gratitude, and we reemphasize that we do not take this love shown to us for granted.”
They expressed confidence in their son to use his wealth of knowledge to take the BCDA to an enviable height to actualize the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
“Our leader, brother, and son, Dr. George-Kelly, is a round peg in a round hole who has exceptionally served in various capacities at the state level, especially as the Honourable Commissioner for Works in the immediate past administration of Rivers and under the current administration until he resigned to answer this higher call. Thus, we consider him our kind donation to our country, Nigeria.
“We believe his expertise, competence, passion, and tireless efforts will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the growth and prosperity of the border communities of our nation.

The team also visited the regent of the Kalabari kingdom, who also expressed gratitude to the President and the minister.
