•Declare support for president’s Renewed Hope mantra

Political stakeholders, opinion leaders, and people of Asari-Toru Local Government Area (ASALGA) of Rivers State, have declared their total commitment and support for President Bola Tinubu to actualise the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.
This is sequel to the appointment of their son, Dakorinama Alabo George-Kelly, as Director General of Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).
They made the pledge during a stakeholders’ meeting in Asari-Toru Local Government Area on Monday,.
They equally declared their unwavering loyalty to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, promising that they would work with him always.
According to a communique read by Igonibo Emmanuel Thompson at the end of the meeting, the people said their appreciation was borne out of the innate and habitual character trait of gratitude associated with them.
Reading the communique, Thompson said: “The meeting, which was born out of the innate and habitual character trait of gratitude associated with Asari-Toru people, reviewed the appointment of Dr. Dakorinama Alabo George-Kelly, its positive multiplier effects on our people, as well as the overarching love and benefits the Asari-Toru are effusively enjoying, owing to the purposeful political leadership superintended over by the political leader of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.”
Thompson, while briefing journalists, said Asari-Toru people unanimously resolved to support President Tinubu’s administration and Wike, for recommending their son, George-Kelly, for the appointment.
“With immense joy and unreserved gratitude, we express our profound appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, for appointing our own son, Dakorinama Alabo George-Kelly, as the Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA)
“We also thank our beloved leader, the immediate past governor of Rivers State, and the serving Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for finding our son worthy of nomination.
“Wike has always demonstrated his unwavering love for the Kalabari people, and the Asari-Toru people in particular. This is evident in the choice and recommendation of our son for the appointment, among the diverse tribes and tongues that make up Nigeria.
“Wike’s facilitation of this appointment further underscores his commitment to fostering collaboration and progress across our region. As expected of us, we wholly appreciate his tireless advocacy and support for our communities and people.
“Asari-Toru Local Government has long yearned for such a rare opportunity, and today, we stand united in celebration. Unanimously, we reiterate our gratitude, and we re-emphasise that we do not take this love shown to us for granted,” the communique stated.
The people expressed confidence in their son to use his wealth of knowledge to take the BCDA to an enviable height to actualise the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
“Our leader, brother, and son, Dr. George-Kelly, is a round peg in a round hole. He has exceptionally served in various capacities at the state level, especially as the Commissioner for Works in the immediate past administration of Rivers State, and under the current administration, until he resigned to answer this higher call. Thus, we consider him our kind donation to our country, Nigeria.
“We believe his expertise, competence, passion, and tireless efforts will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the growth and prosperity of the border communities of our nation.
“Without equivocation, we are confident that our border communities under the watch of our son, Dr. George-Kelly, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a deep-rooted love for people, will experience a speedy and sustainable development.
“We once again extend our sincere gratitude and encomium to President Tinubu for recognising the immense potential within our borders and entrusting Dr. George-Kelly with this crucial national assignment.
“As a people, we seize this moment to reaffirm our collective resolve to work hand in glove with President Tinubu for the realisation of the Renewed Hope agenda.”
On Wike, they declared: “We strongly reaffirm our unwavering loyalty and commitment to Wike, under whose leadership we are reassured of building bridges, creating opportunities, and ensuring a brighter future for all.
“In reciprocation of his love and goodwill towards us, we, the Asari-Toru people, will ever be grateful to him, and will always stand by him against all odds.
“Thank you, and may our journey towards the progress of our land and people be marked by unity, determination, and unwavering hope.”
The team also visited the Regent of the Kalabari Kingdom, who also expressed gratitude to President Buhari and the FCT minister, Wike.
