The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday, cleared former governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, to contest the party primaries for Abia North Senatorial District.

The statement signed by the acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, and made available to newsmen at the national secretariat of the party, read that the chieftain of the party was cleared along with a Kogi Central Senatorial district aspirant, Yusuf A. Haruna.

Captured succinctly, “APC Clears Uzor Kalu, Yusuf Haruna for Abia, Kogi Senate Primaries, the statement read: “The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cleared the former governor of Abia State, H.E. Dr. Uzor Kalu and Yusuf A. Haruna to contest the Party’s Senate Primaries for Abia North and Kogi Central Senatorial districts respectively.”

In another statement from the ruling party, postponing the senate primaries, APC said: “The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the Party’s Senate Primaries in the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to Wednesday, October 3, 2018.”
