As President Ahmed Tinubu tries to settle down for leadership functions, including delivering good governance, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Garus Gololo, has suggested how to move the party forward.

Gololo, a former army officer, in a chat with Sunday Sun, took the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu and former Zamfara State governor, Senator Abdul-aziz Yari, to the cleaners over their recent roles in the party.

According to him, the threat by Yari to quit the APC over leadership tussle in the Senate would not make the party to lose sleep at all.

He described the move by Yari as paperweight ideology, which wouldn’t cause the party anything except losing their seats at the National Assembly by being recalled by their wards.

The party chieftain, who expressed shock over the new turn of events in the camp of the ruling party after the victory at the National Assembly election, said that the party wouldn’t miss any of those who are ready to leave the party as rumoured.

Dr Gololo said: “Believe you me, we would give  the former governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdulazeez Abubakar Yari, to PDP or other opposition parties for free and I bet you he will take his trouble there to further bury the party because he is a trouble maker. And maybe I have to remind us some incidents that led to the crisis in the APC when Yari was the caretaker chairman of the party.

“He almost led the party into crisis, but it was managed. The issue then was that he, Yari, does not have the political charisma like Senator Akpabio and we all know it. He doesn’t even have the better academic qualification and political exposure like Senator Akpabio.

“Let’s face it. He only has this Arabic qualification without any western educational qualification and is this the kind of person Nigerian Senate would have for as Senate President? No, the truth is that times are changing and we have to move along”.

Stressing on the rumoured threat by Senator Yari and his cohorts to defect to the opposition parties, he appealed to the two-term governor of Zamfara State to step down from his high horse and be loyal to the ruling party hierarchy.

“Don’t forget that I told you that he is a serial trouble maker, during his eight years as the governor of Zamfara State, he made sure that the man who brought him to political limelight, Senator Yerima, his predecessor, was chased out of Guzau, the capital of Zamfara State. Who does that? Again he is in his element again, trying to object and refuse to accept an election result that he was beaten hands down at the floor of the Senate,” he said.

Commenting on the APC national chairman, he said that Senator Adamu is another disaster and failure who has disappointed the party even by losing at his polling unit.

He said: “This is another man whom I respected owing to his past in politics, but I also feel disappointed when they fell short of rescuing the party at various points. How can Senator Abdullahi Adamu as the national chairman, fail to win at least a House of Representatives seat in Nasarawa State, even one Senatorial seat could not be delivered by a national chairman and I keep wondering the kind of politicians we are to merit the positions we occupy at the national level? Go to Nasarawa State, there are internal crisis here and there even with the governor being a member of APC, he did not change anything. I can tell you that the governor delivered himself and that is why there is crisis because he is accusing the governor of not giving his candidates Senatorial seats. Take a look at Adams Oshiomhole, whom no one gave chance. He came back and delivered himself and other Senators and House of Representative members. Which one has Abdullahi Adamu achieved? He deserves to leave the party because he is a disappointment”.
