A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Preye Aganaba, has commended Nigerians for voting President Muhammadu Buhari and party’s National Assembly candidates in the just concluded elections.

He specifically applauded Bayelsa State people for non-violence, which has been the case after every election in state, assuring that they will get more democracy dividends.

He mentioned job creation, channelization projects in Yenagoa, schools, roads, health centres among others, as the party’s achievements in the state.

On his views of the president’s cabinet members, Aganaba said that he was not happy with the people who got appointment previously, as active party members were not considered, adding that the opposition party members were more in power.

However, he believes this will not recur, as the president meant well by his actions, but regrettably members of the opposition party brought confusion in the party. According to him, the prerogative of choosing cabinet members lies with the president, stressing that things are going to be different this time around. On the accusation about the election being the worst in recent times, Aganaba dismissed it as untrue and added that the APC provided a level playing ground for all the parties and for the people to vote their conscience.

“The APC provided adequate security for the 2019 elections not only in Odii, but everywhere in the country. The last election was much more peaceful,” he said. “APC is working relentlessly to ensure that peace and non-violence becomes the new order of the day.
