The Africa Korea Economic Development Association (AKEDA), Nigeria chapter, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its commitment to deepen the partnership between Nigeria and the Republic of Korea.
In a press release signed by the group’s Chairman, Yuccee Uwah, AKEDA lauded the President’s policy on trade and investment, describing his disposition to strengthen the Nigerian-Korean partnership as commendable and a positive policy direction that delivers mutually beneficial outcomes.
The group recalled President Tinubu’s reaffirmation of his administration’s commitment to sustain the strategic partnership between Nigeria and Korea during the presentation of the letter of credence by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nigeria, Vice-Admiral Kim Pan Kyu.
AKEDA described the policy to consolidate the partnership across trade, investment, economic development, technology transfer, education, and cultural exchanges as a significant step towards achieving economic growth, shared prosperity, and inclusive development for citizens of both countries.
“For AKEDA, this is a significant step for achieving economic growth, shared prosperity, and inclusive development for citizens of the two countries,” Yuccee stated.
The group, which focuses on promoting trade relations between Africa and Korea across diverse sectors, expressed its deep appreciation for President Tinubu’s leadership and commitment towards consolidating the burgeoning partnership with Korea for the benefit of Nigeria and Nigerians.
“We applaud the demonstration of leadership by President Tinubu for taking cognizance of new opportunities embedded in the partnership, to bring benefits to the entire nation,” the statement read. “The president’s remark when he received the Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, Vice Admiral Pan Kyu, reaffirming Nigeria and Korea partnership will be prioritized, as both countries can learn from each other on the path to achieving economic growth.”
AKEDA expressed its support for the President to continue the path of renewed engagement with Korea, enabling Nigeria to leverage a mutually beneficial outcome, attract more Korean businesses to Nigeria, and contribute to the growing private sector ecosystem, economic growth, and job creation.
The group also highlighted the importance of Nigeria’s participation at the Korea Africa Summit, scheduled for June 4-5, 2024, in Seoul, Korea, stating that it would usher in a new era of trade and investment between both countries.
AKEDA Nigeria extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Pan Kyu and wished him a successful tenure, consolidating the partnership between Nigeria and Korea for the overall benefit of both countries.
“AKEDA supports efforts to deepen the partnership between Nigeria and Korea as it would open opportunities for growth and shared prosperity for citizens,” Yuccee concluded.
