The Tribunal hits major cinemas across Nigeria and Ghana today. The effort will be the third movie commissioned by Multichoice Nigeria for release this year from the stable of premier filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan.

The Tribunal explores a courtroom tale focused on the discrimination of skin colour faced by an albino who was unjustly laid off from his official duties and the challenged and out-of-focus career of Jimi Disu (Funsho Adeolu), an illustrious lawyer who over the years faced personal struggles and falls short of his aspirations.

Jimi Disu is contracted to defend the ill-treated albino, this eventually avails him an opportunity to battle with his longtime nemesis – his old law firm – utilizing his wealth of judicial skills in the courtroom.

The Tribunal parades Bimbo Manuel, Nobert Young, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Carol King, Funsho Adeolu, Ade Laoye and Damilola Ogunsi amongst many others.

With his triple releases this year, Afolayan is on track to break his personal record of nine wins for his independence day-inflected movie,  October 1 at Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) next year.
