Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi has promised that there will be a significant improvement in the Super Eagles when they play their penultimate 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sao Tome in June.

The Super Eagles who are ranked 83 places above Guinea-Bissau suffered a shocking 1-0 loss to the Djurtus in the first leg of their clash.

Nigeria was poor and found it hard to produce clear-cut chances. The loss ensured that it relinquished its spot at the top of Group A.

However, the Super Eagles bounced back in the second leg with a 1-0 win that took them to the summit of the group.

Nonetheless, the team still has a long way to go if Jose Peseiro wants to meet his target of winning the Nations Cup.
