Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi has stated that the team is looking forward to a victory when they play Angola in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria defeated close rivals Cameroon 2-1 in the round of 16 of the AFCON on Saturday. Jose Peseiro’s lads put up a strong performance to ensure they emerged winners.

The win ensured that the team got a date with Angola in the quarterfinals of the competition. The Palancas Negras themselves have been good so far. They also claimed a big 3-0 against Namibia in the round of 16.

Ahead of the game against Angola, Ajayi, who has been a stalwart in the Super Eagles’ defence, has stated that the team will not lose focus despite their progress at the AFCON.
