South African fans including the country legend, Steven Pienaar are all scared of Alex Iwobi’s forms ahead of crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Super Eagles on Saturday, November 17 at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
The 22-year-old Arsenal forward has been in scintillating form for since the arrival of Unai Emery and former Premier league player insists that Nigeria International current display with the North London outfit has raise his confidence in the game prior to Bafana Bafana.
And, in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool, Iwobi makes a second-half substitute for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the 68th minute and he provided the key moment of the match with the assist to Alexandre Lacazette goal after a thread through pass that the Frenchman which he duly finished following turning around Allison and Joe Gomez.
In a series of tweets, the former Bafana Bafana star wrote, “Every time I watch Iwobi I’m on the edge of my chair. Baller.” Pienaar also went on to taunt Iwobi’s uncle Jay-Jay Okocha in another tweet. “That pass from Alex Iwobi was hot. I’m 100% sure Jay Jay is smiling wherever he is.”
South African football fans that commented under the Pienaar’s tweet also showed concern about the Arsenal star’s quality and form.
