Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered the Chairman/Pro-Chancellor of Ilesa University to put all activities on hold till further notice.

A letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, obtained by Daily Sun, was also copied to the vice chancellor of the university.

The letter dated, January 25, reads: “As you are kindly aware, the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, had already inaugurated an ad-hoc committee on the university.

“Consequently, all activities of the council and other organs of the new university are to be put on hold pending further directives by the state government.” 

The former governor Adegboyega Oyetola on November 23, 2022, inaugurated the council for the takeoff of academic activities in the university.

But, Governor Adeleke ordered a review of the university on January 11, 2023, when he inaugurated an ad-hoc committee for the review.
