The African Democratic Congress (ADC), as parts of efforts to reposition Itself, ahead of the 2027 general election, as well as deepen the country’s democracy is set to hold a retreat for members of its executive Committee.

The retreat with theme, “What Nigerian Voters Want – A Strategic Public Engagement,” which a follow up to a political summit held in Kaduna two weeks ago, is scheduled to hold in Abuja, on Monday.

ADC former presidential hopeful, and leadl consultant for the retreat, Chukwuka Monye, in a statement, said the retreat would focus on the needs and expectations of the Nigerian electorate.

Monye, who is a member of the ADC Board of Trustees ( BoT), noted that
that Political Parties need to listen to voters in framing their learning and leadership.

According to him, “for ADC to to become the party of the people, the party has to flow with the voters.The retreat will address four key areas ranging from party discipline and governance; digital organisation and mobilisation; improving the quality of party leadership and candidates to addressing voter apathy. ”

He added that the in the course of the retreat, a break out group will deliberate on the key outcomes from the panel session, which will be followed by “a synthetisation of the recommendations from the break out groups to better equip the party leadership for strategic repositioning.

“The panelists represent Nigerians across geo-political &socioeconomic backgrounds. ”

Furthermore, Monye noted that the retreat, which will declared open by the Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmad, will be followed by a meeting of the ADC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party on Tuesday.
