From Stanley Uzoaru, Owerri

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) said it is highly worried over what it described as lack of cohesion among the Southeast governors to have a functional forum for the progress of the zone.

National Vice Chairman of ADC, Southeast, Chilos Godsent, stated this in a release he issued to newsmen in Owerri at the weekend.

Godsent said: “ADC South East believes that the major challenge is that many of the governors of the zone are not representing the interest of  the people of the states they govern and also that of South East Zone but rather they are representing the interest of the neo-colonial foreign powers and interest that facilitated their emergence as governors to the detriment of the interest of the people of their state and that of South East Zone.

“ADC South East, therefore, condemns this act of cowardice and thus, enjoins the governors of the five states in South East Zone to put their house in order, cooperate among themselves in order to collectively defend and represent the interest of South East Zone people that they claim to serve.”

He equally called on South East Caucus in the National Assembly to start meeting so that the interest of South East Zone can be properly presented and protected on the floor of the National Assembly.

“Consequent upon the above, we therefore enjoin the youths of South East Zone to rise, mobilize and pressure the governors of the five states of the South East Zone to immediately commence the meeting of the South East Governors Forum or hide their faces in shame.”
