The District Governor, 9125 Nigeria, Goddy Nnadi, has said the Rotary Club is set to give more services for the improvement of the wellbeing and wellness of the less privileged in the country.
Nnadi made this disclosure on Saturday in Abuja at the 2023 new members orientation and training, organised by the Rotary clubs in Abuja in synergy with the district training team.
He stated that the training would encourage members to increase their services, adding that in every good work there is a blessing attached to it.
“I am here to support my presidents who are organising an Orientation program for the new Rotarians, zone 2 .The theme of the year is synergy and the synergy presidents thought that the best way to get more services delivered is to train the new members on the fundamentals, for them to understand why they are in the organisation.
The training is to expose them to what is expected of them and with that,they will be able be better member and adding more to what we do. Rotary internationally is a philanthropic organisation all we do is to render services to humanity. We improve the wellbeing and wellness of fellow Nigerians who can not afford to do that comfortable for themselves.
In Rotary three things are important to us ; the projects, membership and foundation. The organisation is all about giving back to the society,not because we have too much but because we appreciate the level God has placed us, he said.
President of presidents, Abuja,Emeka Ibegbunam,in his remarks said the training is to educate the members on the basics of the organisation to enable them function well.
One of the trainees, Yusuf Abiola, appreciated the organisation for give the opportunity,” I have really learned a lot. As we know without having a basic knowledge of anything you are doing,you won’t be able to function well. With this training,I am now transformed and can defend my membership anywhere and encourage others to join the club.”
