The organisers of Accra Weizo travel fair has announced that over 70 tour operators and travel professionals will attend the 3rd edition of the West African travel show taking place on the 26th and 27th May 2017. The tour operators will be hosted to a familiarization trip by the Ghana Tourism Authority from 23rd to 25th May. They will visit the famous Cape Coast in Ghana where GTA has lined up lots of activities to entertain them. Some of them will be hosted at Ridge Royal at the Coast. A welcome dinner will be hosted on the 25th by GTA in Accra after a city tour, while La Palm and Kempinski Hotels will host the foreign delegates to cocktails and dinner.
Accra Weizo Travel Expo is targeted at growing travel business in West Africa and is organised by African Travel Market which also organises Akwaaba Travel Market in Lagos Nigeria. West Africa is the biggest Region in Africa with over 350 million people. It receives the least number of tourists yet West African countries generate the highest number of outbound travellers In Africa. There is a need to encourage West Africans to travel within the region and this is the goal of Accra Weizo.
This edition with theme, “Seamless Travel in West Africa will be for 2 days. The first day will be the seminar on Aviation and the Second day will be dedicated to Digital training for the use of social media to grow travel business. The Special lunch for registered delegates is themed: “Taste of all Nations,” which will showcase the dishes from all regions of Ghana.
