Organiser of Miss Esther Queen pageant, Asher Fleet, has unveiled 45 contestants for this year’s edition of the pageantry, which holds in August.
According to the President of Asher Fleet, Emmanuel Chuks, the pageantry is patterned after the biblical Esther who contested with other maidens and emerged winner despite her nationality and background.
Chuks further explained that pageantry has been misrepresented due to the way it is organised, while some ugly tales about the modeling industry have discouraged a lot of talented females from contesting.
He said that the initiative started due to sexual harassment, immorality and other ugly incidents plaguing pageantry, adding that Miss Esther seeks to showcase the Christian virtues in women, a combination of beauty and brains.
“Miss Esther pageantry is designed to fostering oneness, peace and unity as well as re-branding the gifts and talents deposited in models,” Chuks stated.
A member of the organising team, KC Mordi explained that Miss Esther was initiated to promote decency in the modeling industry.
Meanwhile, contestants would be judged based on punctuality, etiquette, daily tasks and contest challenge.
