An HND 2 student of the Kogi State Polytechnic, identified as Miss Adebanjo Adetutu has been kidnapped.

Adetutu , a student from the Department of Management was kidnapped along Abuja-Okene highway close to Itakpe community.

Within the last one week not fewer than 10 people had been kidnapped in the state.

Miss Adetutu was returning to her home town in Ogun State after the first semester exams when she was abducted.

The abductors had earlier demanded for a ransom of N10 million over the weekend and on Monday afternoon reduced it to N500,000.

Her kidnap was coming few days when three chieftains of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance party , Kogi State chapter were kidnapped along Idah Road .

Also, a lecturer at the Kogi State University, Ayingba, his wife and two children were also abducted six days ago while an expatriate, his driver and police orderly were Also abducted along Ajaokuta- Ayingba road.

In the latest abduction, the Director of students’ affairs, National Association of Kogi State Student, Comrade Salihu Lukman, said the victim lost his father two years ago.

In his words “As I speak to you, negotiation is still on going. Monday makes it the 4th day now and the poor mother of Adetutu who happens to be a widow can’t afford the ransom and she is weeping profusely without any help from anywhere.

“We are pleading with the kogi state government and the general public to come to the aid of this poor girl so that we can secure her release,”

When contacted the state commissioner of Police, Ali Janga said the police had already swung into action to rescue the girl.
