Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, Mr Olanrewaju Yomi Oladimeji, has charged his officers to tackle criminals in the state just as 23 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and cultists were arrested. Arms and ammunition were recovered from various scenes of crime.
He said: “The command has given orders to the tactical team to go after the hoodlums. We have succeeded in flushing out the hoodlums from their hideouts.
“I have warned officers to shun corruption. They should imbibe community policing and apply professionalism when discharging their duties. We need a good relationship between the police and the public to checkmate the criminals.
“The Anti-Cultism Squad (ACS) arrested 10 suspected members of the Eiye confraternity in Shagamu. They had converged at locations in Odogbolu to unleash terror on Sagamu. Some dangerous weapons were recovered from them.
“Operatives recently arrested a wanted serial killer, Ifasoji Ayangbesan. He is a member of a notorious ritualist syndicate. They killed and dismembered the body of Oyindamola Adeyemi at Ijebu-Ode on January 28, 2023. He offered to bribe the officers with N1million.
“I have visited Lagos-Sagamu Expressway, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and Ijebu-Ode/Ore Expressway. Operatives arrested some suspected armed robbers in Abeokuta and Odeda where they terrorized the route and the institution in that axis.
“We have been constantly raiding the flashpoints in these areas. We encourage the public to always give the police vital information on strange face in their environs. All suspects will soon be charged to court.
