This year’s edition of the annual international crusade organised by the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries at Mgbidi, a sleepy town in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State, recently came to a close. And not a few participants from across the globe went home with various testimonies about the miracles that God performed in their lives.
People from 37 countries participated in the interdenominational programme titled “What God has Determined Shall Be Done.” A total of 3.5 million worshippers are believed to have attended the programme.
The large expanse of land, covering over 5,000 hectares, was taken up by worshipers who defied the elements to participate in the crusade.
Among the participants were those from China, India, Ecuador, Greece, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Botswana, Pakistan, Mozambique, Malawi, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Ghana, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Qatar, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Niger Republic, Madagascar, Botswana, Congo, Burundi and Ethiopia.
Many that attended the crusade in wheelchairs walked home, while those with kidney, heart, liver problems, mental illness, paralysis and spinal cord challenges were healed following prayers by the General Overseer of the ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka.
Among those who gave testimonies about their healing were several mentally-challenged persons, the deaf and dumb, those with stroke, and many others.
Mrs. Adaora Ekemma said God broke her yoke of eight-year barrenness; Mr. Cletus Nwoyibe said his 26-year-old childlessness ended; while Miss Chidiebere Chukwu said her brother was healed after 26 years of insanity.
Mr. Onyebuchi John Irechukwu also said God changed his life after joining The Lord’s Chosen at Tudun Wada area of Jos in 2015: “I hated the church but, one day, I had an encounter with a customer and he advised me to join The Lord’s Chosen. So, on April 2, 2015, I joined, while my wife joined on April 5. Before I joined, my wife had three stillbirths and two miscarriages, and we were given a notice to quit our residence for our inability to pay the N180,000 rent. But, by February, I bought a car, and by May, we started building a house of not less than N12 million in Lagos. We also had our first baby. Then, on October 14, 2017, we had another baby. That was how God removed us from where the enemy kept us and took us to a place of blessing and abundant wealth.”
In her own testimony, Mrs. Chinyere Okoli said she got a baby boy after 23 years of childlessness.
Former Chief Security Officer to the late General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, appealed to Pastor Muoka to help the nation tackle the crises bedevilling the country, especially the killings in the North. He said the nation needed genuine men of God like Muoka who could pass the right messages to the people.
“Muoka’s prayers saved me when I was persecuted. He is really a true man of God and we want him to extend his evangelism to the North, so as to change the situation for good. If we allow terrorism to get deep and rooted, it may snowball into affecting other parts of Nigeria. Besides, people are dying every day. So, there is need to bring people like Muoka who have the capacity to bring Nigeria out of its present situation,” he said.
Al-Mustapha described Muoka as a distinguished personality and an embodiment of humility, asserting that the cleric had all the qualities of a true leader.
General Overseer of the church, Pastor Muoka called on Nigerians and the entire world to shun corrupt practices, envy, hatred, wickedness and other ungodly acts in order to be in good relationship with God and fellow humans.
“Amend your ways and reconcile with God before it will be late. Anything that is unrighteous, like corruption, fornication, adultery, envy, hatred, back-biting, kidnapping, covetousness and lesbianism is a serious sin. Therefore, those who practise such should confess and promise God that they will not do them anymore.
“You need the word of God and you should place it above prayers. We must understand that God’s word matters a lot in our lives. And, when there is the word of God, there will be knowledge and understanding. In fact, knowing the word of God and practising it is strength and a direct visa to heaven. It will make one stronger and to remain in the presence of God. Obviously, anyone who wants to bear good fruits must listen to God’s words and allow Him to abide in him. So, if one fails to listen to the word of God, he will miss what God has determined for him.”
Muoka said that 2018 would be full of uncertainties: “We are here to begin with God who knows the future and our expectations are on him. If we are with him, he will see us through in every situation, and whatever he has determined shall be done.”
The cleric insisted that his ministries’ 10 billion souls mandate across the world must be accomplished, adding that no one could stop it. “The vision is determined by God and we will move forward to fulfil it. Every plan of the Devil against us will be a raw material that will take us to where we are going. And, as God did to human agents like Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Herod and Satan, who wanted to destroy Jesus, so shall it be to those who would want to stop us,” he said.
