Fourteen Vice Chancellor applicants who are jostling for the position of the Vice -Chancellor of the Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aliero (KSUSTA) have appeared before the Governing Council of the university to express their missions and visions.

This process was said to be part of the selection processes of the next Vice-Chancellor who will replace the incumbent, Professor Bashar Ladan Aliero.

Chairman of the council, Dr. Haliru Bala, who is also the Pro- Chancellor of the university, supervised the presentation of the missions and visions by the applicants, along with other council members. It was conducted at the university premises.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the institution, Mallam Mustapha Mansur Ango confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

He listed those interviewed as including Prof. Abubakar Yakubu (KSUSTA), Prof Bala Muhammad Yauri (UDUS), Prof. Sule Sahabi Manga (KSUSTA), Prof. L.U. Mohammed (KSUSTA), Prof. B.G. Dan-Shehu (UDUS), Prof. Bello Umar Faruk (UDUS), Prof. S.S. Noma (UDUS), Prof. B.S. Malami (UDUS), Prof. M.A. Maikasuwa (KSUSTA), Prof. A.B. Muhammad (UDUS), Prof. Ibrahim R. Muhammad (BUK), Prof. Rufat Aliyu Yauri (Base University, Abuja), Prof. S.U. Gulumbe (UDUS) and Prof. Adamu Muhammad (KSUSTA).

Ango said: “The screening process was characterized by fairness and transparency, ensuring that each applicant had an equal opportunity to present their vision for the university. Dr. Haliru Bala, under his leadership, ensured that the process was conducted with the utmost integrity, garnering praises from both the university community and the applicants themselves

“The proactive measures taken by the Pro-Chancellor have set a new standard for excellence, earning recognition as the first and best of its kind in the university’s history and a notable achievement in the academic landscape of Kebbi State, and to some extent Nigeria.”
