Senator representing Nasarawa West senatorial district, Abdullahi Adamu, has describe those advocating the restructuring of the country as looking for cheap popularity, noting that there was nothing wrong with the constitution of the country.

Adamu is a former Governor of Nasarawa State.

Senator Adamu stated this, in Lafia, while speaking with newsmen after he led a delegation of stakeholders from his senatorial districts to pay the state governor a courtesy visit at the government house.

According to him, “Those advocating for restructuring should come out and tell us what is wrong with our constitution, you can’t restructure the country on the pages of newspapers in other to get cheap publicity, there is nothing wrong with the concept but those calling for it should tell exactly what is wrong with our constitution and we can sit and address it.”

Also speaking during the visit, former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aliyu Wadada, explained that as a card carrying member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), nobody would stop him from actualising his political ambition in the party adding that zoning gives room for the emergence of mediocrity.

He said that zoning is not recognize by the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, noting that there is more unity in APC than the PDP where he was before his recent defection “when people come together for whatever reason, what is key is the level of cohesiveness and unity among them, that is one thing the APC has”

“I have all the chances to actualize my political ambition in APC, because it is God that made leaders, once God create the chance for Hon Wadada, nobody can stop it. I command a lot of followership and when I decide to run would have every chance to win. I don’t know about zoning in my political life.

“As far I’m concern, zoning most times give room for the emergence of mediocrity, I have nothing against Nasarawa North, they are part of the state but zoning has never been part of my political life,” he said.
