Women across the 36 states of the federation yesterday besieged major streets of Abuja, in peaceful protest to demand  equal rights, good governance and other benefits.

The group, under the umbrella, “Women 4 Women’’, dressed in different uniforms caused gridlock in some busy roads in Abuja. This put additional stress on motorists and other workers who were on their ways to their various workplaces.

They were armed with placards bearing different inscriptions like ‘‘we need a woman vice president, good governance, good life for our children’’ and several other demands; chanting solidarity songs to drum home their messages.  They later headed towards the entrance of three arm zone Abuja, where they were expected to present their demands to government.
