What Buhari told me on Biafra agitation – Gov Umahi

Recently, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state and Chairman, South East Governors’ Forum, travelled with President Buhari to New York to attend the UN General Assembly. In this interaction covered by our correspondent, OBINNA ODOGWU, the Governor revealed the details of his private discussions with Buhari on Biafra agitation as well as the President’s response.

Hate speeches seem to be the order of the day in Nigeria. What is the Ebonyi State Government doing to curb the menace?

We have a very important law we are going to make and that will be on hate speeches. You will have to prove henceforth whatever allegations you put forward, whether it is on the social media or on the pages of newspaper. We are going to make the law so that when you are accusing anybody you will have to prove it. We will create a department that will be in charge of that so that we regulate hate speeches in the state.

Already, Kaduna state did it and I told the Governor, please export whatever you have in Kaduna and bring here. What is pulling this country down is our mouths and mindset. People just sit down at one corner and start to destroy people and cook up all kinds of things you cannot prove. We know that this is democracy but he that comments must prove his or her point and we must insist on that. The courts are there to prove our points and strengthen democracy. Anybody who stays at the corners of his/her house to accuse you, that person must be fished out to prove it.

From all indications, the country will soon be restructured in view of the clamour all over the nation. How prepared are South East states?

Very soon, there will be no more money coming from Abuja, it will happen just suddenly. If they just say okay let us do restructuring and of course the North is doing greatly very well, how do we survive? North has a lot of opportunities, they are moving into agriculture.

And so some people see restructuring as a dream that may not come to pass. If they say we must restructure and let every region harness its resources and keep it, bring 50% of it to the centre, 30% to common pocket to be redistributed and 20% to the federal government. The question is: what are we going to bring to the centre? But this is one of the aspects of restructuring and so we must wake up. I will continue to shout it, we must hear that and I am happy the President commended Ebonyi state in agriculture and fertilizer. One of my fights in this state is such that the Abakaliki rice would not be dimmed because it is known all over the world. But we have to do different things if we must excel. We have improved in agriculture actually but we have not reached our destination and we must get to the destination in rice production in this country.

What can you say about the ongoing agitations in the South-East region for the actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra and the recent proscription of IPOB?

I want to thank the Governors of South-East and the North for their efforts in ending the ugly incident that occurred recently. Let me assure Nigerians that Mr. President has heard you and he is going to address all the issues raised.  There is no need to continue insulting our leaders and abusing other tribes. No need trying to pose danger to the existence of our people. We are not untrustworthy people. We are very, very trustworthy. We are hardworking and well cultured people and so, we have made our points.

I had private discussion with Mr. President in New York and I want to assure the South-Easterners that the President will address all our problems. Nigeria is going to see peace. We are stronger when we are bigger. Let me also tell our people that we are playing too much politics. It is only in the South-East that you see petitions that they are piling in the EFCC. Everything is now about politics and we left our hard work for politics.

As the incumbent and 3rd civilian Governor of Ebonyi State since its creation 21 years ago, what efforts have you made in living up to the dreams of the founding fathers?

In our efforts to create a new Ebonyi State of the dreams of our founding fathers, we christened the platform upon which God brought us to leadership and raised us so high above distractions through the divine mandate. We remain grateful to God. We can humbly say that we have achieved a lot through God’s divine mandate within the two years of our administration. We have kept hope alive and delivered on our campaign promises despite obstacles that have stirred us and still stirring us in the face, but we are surmounting most of them.

Undoubtedly, this year’s celebration for us as a people is an important juncture in the annals of our statehood; because, we have worked hard to bring development to our state.

In the previous years, we have devoted this celebration to enumerating our collective challenges in which insecurity had formed the major challenge. But today, we have modified this annual event such that it has become a convention for our collective achievements. We have kept hope alive and tackled our challenges as a people who are destined to succeed.

Let me emphasize that the dream of our founding fathers was that should Ebonyi State be created; it will survive based on the human and mineral resources that God endowed us with. It is important that we know how far we have harnessed these resources that God gave to us.

The name Buhari is comic figure, do not exist. What is in a existence is military regime and the military head of state is Buratai. On the other hand, it is the most foolish thing on earth in this 21st century world of intellectuals and advancements of humanity, if southerners who are intellectuals by nature and wealthy, are slaves of poor northern illiterates in the name of nigeria. If south can feed north, why would south not exist in comfort under Republic Of Biafra of south east, Niger Delta Republic of south south, Oduduwa Republic of south west, with economic cooperations and assistances. If ten per cent annual budgets of Republic Of Biafra and Niger Delta Republic goes to Oduduwa Republic as assistance, with oil and gas subsidies etc., what do south west have to worry or fear? What do south east and south south have to loose? This is 21st world. Southern natives in the military, police etc. has to quit now and exist under their Republics with economic cooperations etc., to avoid the enemy- poor northern bandits using southerners to destroy south. Biafra is now a Sovereign State with interim government. The enemy will vacate Biafran Territorial Sovereign State bleeding dead or alive- within the coming days. God Is With Us!!!

The enemy know it is over and are desperet to destroy south with southerners etc., which if not prevented by southerners, it will be the most foolish thing of this 21st century world. South has all it takes to exits and coexist under their Republics with economic cooperations and assistances etc.- south east of Republic Of Biafra, south south of Niger Delta Republic, south west of Oduduwa Republic. Southerners has to quit the military, police etc. now with economic securities etc. under their Republics. God Is With Us!!!

Dave Umahi is a Qusling and one of those dangerous enemies within our Igbo-fold.
Governor Umahi and his South East cahorts and cahoots, the members of our so called South East Governors Forum, seem quite oblivious about what we Igbos have been subjected to since after be Biafran-Nigerian War of 1967-1970.We’ve been relegated to a 3rd class citizenry in this country and for too long.
This pack of idiots and reprobates, who went out of their ways to proscribe and designate our IPOB Youths as
terrorists no longer represent us Ndigbo.
The message that they are current on their own should not be lost on them all.
By Jove,we Biafrans at home and in diaspora might be forced to go first against our enemies within, before we confront the enemies of Ndigbo from outside. Watch out your backs, you damned Governors of Ndigbo.
Isn’t Governor Umahi aware of the fact that his old Afikpo Division is more populated than Presidsent Buhari’s
Katsina State, yet Katsina State has 34 Local Government Areas, while his entire Ebonyi State has only 13
    Local Government Areas.
Furthemore, the Old Kaduna State from which Katsina State was carved out of, has more Local Government
Areas than old Abia and Enugu States , from which Governor Umahi’s Ebonyi State was carved out of.
That is just one of the several reasons why our IPOB Youths are agitating and they go about it,in a very non-
    violent, peaceful and passive manners.
Yet, Dave Umahi and his fellow fawning Governors of the South East, in other to appease their Fulani Overlord and Principal, President Buhari, who bared his gworo stained fangs at them, simply with alacrity,
proscribed and designated our IPOB Youth as terrorists.
Oh dear! What a crying shame indeed!
That Aro-Uzo crook,Dave Umahi even bragged about saving 12 millions of Igbos domicled in the North,
through this unforgivable act of treachery by our so called Governors.
Thanks to God that they are all Igbo Khakis,Nwanwas and Osu Nmuo Igbos not from my noble Ibom Igbos.Lol!!
“Dave Umahi bu onye Aro-Uzo.Ndi-Aro bu Ndi-ohoro.Chukwu gba hanile oku!”
No to the status quo ante bellum!
    Down with Hausa/Fulani Islamic Hegemony!!
All Hail Biafra, the Land of the Rising Sun!!!

It is surprising that an elected governor in the south east was asking what we could bring to the centre should Nigeria restructure and glowing picture of agricultural potential of the north that perhaps was more prepared for restructuring. I cannot but wonder what we gain by putting down ourselves and more worrisome when an elected leader in the south east was doing that with such brazen fun fare. He made us to understand that the president has heard the IPOB and as an Oracle will address all the problems raised. I guess that should be after the south east governors and their leaders thoroughly chided during the inglorious independent broadcast have prostrated and taken the gospel lesson to the people as the governor is doing presently. The problem of the Igbos are the Igbos themselves whose leaders often showcase slavish and servile mentality that are embarrassing and don’t make sense at all. That perhaps accounted for lack of trust from the ppeople that could readily align with the likes of Kanu. It is embarrassing to observe them very effusive in their efforts to impress the powers that be to the detriment of the interest of the people they are supposed to protect.

@Peter Okeke, in the history of Revolution, such people in the old system are never part of the Revolution, but goes down in the Revolution. God given Republic Of Biafra of the five south east states is a Revolution. Dont care about any who is not part of the Revolution, only care about those who are part of the Revolution- who are majority Igbos of the five south east states. As I already said, God will raise the grass to fight for Biafra in this final battle, if need be. Biafra is now a Sovereign State with interim government. The enemy will vacate Biafran Territorial Sovereign State bleeding dead or alive- within the coming days. God Is With Us!!!

IPOB has not been banned, neither has it been proven a terrorist organisation. The case is still in court. It is by intimidation that the IPOB in Nigeria are talking about proscription and terrorism. The Europeans are very glad to see us wear our Biafran and IPOB Tags.IPOB is legal world wide.

Hausa-Fulani slaves, sellouts and saboteurs in Ala-Igbo. They are our problem. They are the ones holding Igbo people and Biafrans in bondage and slavery in Nigeria. But this time, they will fail woefully. They can never stop the will and desire of millions of Biafrans to be free from the murderous, evil and wicked contraption called Nigeria, a country that sends the military to massacre its so-called citizens. Only in Nigeria will the military with war weapons, machines guns, AK47, grenades, etc., be deployed to massacre IPOB leader Mazi Namadi and unarmed Biafra youths in his family residence – a royal palace for that matter. It’ll never be good for Nigeria. In fact, Nigeria is cursed forever!

The worst human right violation on earth is Almajiri practise, and Almajiris are the worst victims of human right violation on earth. All what the society of the fallen caliphate that practise Almajiri know is brutality etc. associated with the Almajiri nature and practise- by so doing, the caliphate society lost psychological sense of human civil nature and practise. No sensible human or society of civil nature and practise like Biafrans and God given Republic Of Biafra of the five south east will exist or associate with such animal fallen caliphate society and people of such animal practise in this 21st century world. Biafra is now a Sovereign State with interim government. The enemy will vacate Biafran Territorial Sovereign State bleeding dead or alive- within the coming days. God Is With Us!!!
