Some universities, polytechnics and colleges of education have confirmed receipt of the provisional admission list forwarded to them by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for consideration for admission.
JAMB Registrar, Professor Dibu Ojerinde, had on Sunday told newsmen that the board has forwarded the provisional to the individual universities in accordance with their capacity. The lists, Daily Sun gathered contained names of candidates who passed the national cut-off mark (180) and were eligible for screening by the individual institutions.
He asked institutions whose lists were not sufficient to use the omnibus printout earlier sent to them by the board.
“Institutions are advised to source from the omnibus printout earlier sent to them by the board in the event that the list is not sufficient for the need of the institution. The candid intention of the board is to ensure that available spaces are adequately utilised,” he said
Meanwhile, the Proprietor/Chancellor, Gregory University, Uturu, Abia State, Dr. Gregory Ibeh, confirmed that he received from JAMB, the provisional list of candidates for admission.
He encouraged interested candidates to watch out for information on screening process, date and venue.
Similarly, the Vice Chancellor of the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, Professor Abdullahi Zuru, also confirmed to Daily Sun that the list had reached the school.
Officials of the Federal College of Education, Omoku, Rivers State, also confirmed that their institution had received the admission sent to the school by JAMB last week.
