Professor Benjamin Ozumba, the vice-chancellor University of Nigeria Nsukka has said the university has concluded arrangements to start assembling laptops and tractors.
Ozumba announced this in Nsukka yesterday,  during the launch of Roar Nigeria Hub that attracted world-class IT companies, like Google, Facebook, Huawei Technologies. He said the vision was to ensure that every students in Nigerian tertiary institution have access to a laptop at affordable price.
“In the next three months made in UNN laptops will flood Nigerian markets, assembling of laptops is not the only dream UNN is nursing, it will also go into assembling of tractors for agricultural use in the next one year”, he said.  He said UNN will do everything within its capacity to collaborate with Roar Nigeria Hub whose mission is to create home grown technology solutions with global impact.
Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who was represented by the Commissioner for Science and Technology,  Greg Nnaji, in a remark  said the concept of the hub was in line with the efforts of the present administration to entrench IT culture, generate employment for the teeming youths and pledged government support.
