Taraba Governor Darius Ishaku has announced that the state burial for  former Governor Danbaba Suntai would come up on the August 19.

Ishaku stated this in a press statement issued and signed by the chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Hassan Mijinyawa, in Jalingo.

The burial was earlier speculated to hold on August 5, but Governor Ishaku in the statement said that “The 19th was the most appropriate fate after due consideration and consultation”.

The statement said that other itinerary for the burial would be communicated subsequently as “the state government was working hard to give him a most befitting burial”.

Ishaku described Suntai as “a renowned leader who impacted positively in the lives of his people and deserves a lot of respect and honor from his people in their commitment to peaceful coexistence and unity of the state”.

Former Governor Suntai died on the June 28, in Houston, USA, two days to his 56th birthday, after years in incapacitation following a plane crash in 2012.
