The organizers of the annual beach soccer tournament, COPA Lagos, Kinetic Sports has announced the participation of the Spanish Beach Soccer team at this year’s tournament which is set to hold from the 8thto the 10th of December, 2017 at Eko Atlantic City.

This is the first time the Spanish side will be coming to Africa and most importantly Nigeria.

Coach Joaquín Alonso and his team will grace COPA Lagos 2017 alongside other international teams that will be confirmed subsequently.

The Spanish side comes with no small pedigree; they have made fourteen (14) Beach Soccer World Cup appearances, runners-up in the same competition in 2003, 2004 and 2013 respectively. They are known by different monikers such as La Furia Roja (The Red Fury), Los Hispanos (The Hispanos), and La Roja (The Red [One].

Reiterating its commitment to deliver excellence at this year’s event, Managing Director of Kinetic Sports, Samson Adamu, said: “This year’s edition of COPA Lagos is bringing three exciting days of soccer, fashion, music, business, and networking opportunities. Our long medium term plan is to make Copa Lagos more than just a beach soccer event but to become a major tournament that will put Nigeria on the global tourism space, promote a beach culture and lifestyle from Lagos to other parts of Nigeria.

The Spanish side is the second international team to be unveiled following Arsenal BSC’s reveal last week.
