From Wole Balogun,Ado Ekiti

Following the killing of an Inspector during an attack on a police station on October 15, soldiers have taken over security of Ido-Ekiti in Ekiti State during a week-long festival.
The Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, Oba Ayorinde Ilori-Faboro, disclosed this at the weekend while briefing newsmen on Ajodun Ido Ogaganmodu 2016, an annual event that brings indigenes together for community development.
He assured his subjects expected from all over the country and overseas of security during the festival. The event would feature prayers, school debate, widows’ empowerment, marathon race, cultural competition, medical outreach, beauty pageant, football competition, fund raising, among others.
The monarch said the attack on the police station by unknown gunmen believed to be about 40 prompted him to request for soldiers who are complemented by riot policemen, local vigilance operatives and hunters to ensure security of lives and property.
The first class monarch urged the indigenes who had made their marks elsewhere to come home and invest for the community to witness more development.
