The military have recovered bodies of terrorists, 36 hand grenades and one 12.7 X108mm round of ammunition concealed by terrorists in the general area of Baga, Kangarwa and Dogonchikun in Borno.
The Nigerian Army spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, in a statement, in Abuja, said the troops of 119 Task Force Battalion of 7 Brigade, on Operation Lafiya Dole, uncovered the graves of the Boko Haram terrorists.
He said the “shallow graves” contained corpses of terrorists who died after they escaped with gun wounds during an encounter with Nigerian troops on January 13, 2017.
Also, yesterday, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) said its fighter jets and helicopter gunship, have destroyed another Boko Haram in Borno.
NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, who made this known in a statement, said the terrorists hideout, which is about one nautical mile south of Tumbum Rego in northern Borno, was destroyed following Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) report that insurgents, who attacked own Surface Forces at Kangarwa the night of January 12, 2017 had withdrawn to the said location…”
“The troops have continued their patrols by dominating the general area of Baga, Kangarwa and Dogonchikun, with a view to intercepting fleeing Boko Haram terrorists,” the Army spokesman said.
