The Nigerian Army said its troops on counter insurgency war in the north east have arrested 30 members of the Boko Haram terrorists group.

The terrorists were reportedly fleeing from the overwhelming firepower of the soldiers were arrested at Goniri, in Gujba Local  Government Area of Yobe State.

The suspected terrorists comprise eight women and 22 children, claimed to have escaped from Boko Haram terrorists’ custody at Kafa and Abagajiri villages in Damboa LGA of Borno state.

A statement by Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, said the troops also arrested seven other women and children said to be  escaping from Boko Haram terrorists at Kamuya, Yobe State. Usman, who said the suspects claimed that they escaped from Boko Haram terrorists’ hideout at Goropcha village, in Damboa Local Government Area Borno State, are currently being screened and profiled by the army authorities in the area.
