Shuluwa calls for Sheriff’s resignation

From ROSE EJEMBI, Makurdi.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Benue State, Chief Abu King Shuluwa has joined other prominent PDP stalwarts to call on the party’s National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff to resign with immediate effect.

Shuluwa who alleged that Sheriff was an agent who had a mission to destroy the PDP maintained that those if them who founded the Party cannot sit and watch him destroy the party.

“Ali Modu Sheriff has no business being chairman of PDP because he is an agent. Does it mean there is nobody in PDP? He has a mission. I join the group that says sheriff should resign. There are so many in PDP who can fill that position. We cannot sit and watch the PDP family being destroyed.”

Shuluwa averred that Sheriff who was Governor in the opposition party for two terms and also a Senator in the same opposition also had case to answer in the formation of a group that later evolved into the dreaded Boko Haram.

“I have nothing against Sheriff being a member of the party but he cannot be our National chairman. His emergence as chairman is a ploy to destroy the PDP. Let us study him and know him very well before contemplating handing over the party to him.”

He explained that there are so many people in the PDP who can occupy that position rather than bringing ‘an outsider’ to become the National Chairman of the largest party in Africa.
