Igwede Chukwuyem Chuks popularly known as Mr Successful in the Nigerian entertainment industry is a well talented artiste cum music promoter.
In this interview he shares the dreams and ambitions as well as challenges of being a show promoter overseas.

Can you tell us more about you and what you do?
My name is Igwede Chukwuyem Chuks popularly known as Mr Successful. I am an artiste, a music promoter from Agbor in Delta State. I am currently based in Cyprus Nicosia.
What attracted you to the entertainment industry?
I grew up around music and entertainment. My town has always been known for dance and music. Also like most artistes, I grew up in church playing musical instruments and making music was something that came to me out of my love for music and entertainment. I think I was born for the lifestyle and entertainment.
Which of your songs brought you to limelight?
That would be Na Money Dey rush us which I released in 2018. The song gained so much airplay on tv and also music platforms and a lot of people began to take my music serious.
Do you have an album yet?
I just released an Album titled Successful and am already working on new singles for the new campaign year.
Can you mention names of some songs you have done?
My first song in 2018 was Na money Dey rush us, followed by Jeje, E be God all the way, Successful.
What are your plans for 2020?
I just finished a show in my home town with Nigerian artiste Soft which was a massive successful. Right now am working on release my new song Successful.
Between Davido and Wizkid, who would you want to have a collaboration with?
I think both are one of my biggest inspiration so I won’t tip any and leave out the other. If I have my chance, I would like to have them both on the remix of my new single Successful.
How has if been running show business in diaspora?
It hasn’t been easy, I started out as a club promoter in Malaysia before moving to Cyprus and I would say it’s not easy but soon we will get it right and with the right connections we will be doing big shows with top artistes like Davido and the likes.
What are the major challenges you face?
The major challenge that every upcoming artiste face when you are not already successful or famous. No one takes your music or art serious until you become a big shot. But thanks to all the media houses and radio supporting the boy. If not for your support, I won’t have gained the acceptance I am getting today.
And best way to tackle them?
I think as artiste we should work hard to prove to the world that we are ready to do this music by striving everyday to gain a spot amongst the likes of A list artistes doing it big today. Staying consistent and working hard is the only way to be loved and accepted.
Where do you see your brand in the next couple of years?
As the name implies Mr successful, in the coming years, Mr successful is going to be globally successful with hit songs trending all over the world. Hosting big shows alongside big artistes.
