Maria Sharapova has confirmed her romance with Alexander Gilkes as the pair shared snaps from their romantic Cotswolds getaway this week.

The tennis sensation, 31, and the entrepreneur, 39, shared identical snaps of themselves posing in a golden field of flowers, with similar captions, as they finally shed light on their blossoming relationship.

The blonde beauty, kept it casual in a blue raincoat and black leggings as she gazed up at the sky in the serene photo, which she captioned: ‘Fall in the Cotswolds.’

Wimbledon champion Maria also waxed lyrical about her first time donning wellington boots for a day out in Britain.

She wrote: ‘Spent a weekend in ‘wellies’. Can’t say I’ve done that too often. So very British of me ( if only you could hear my ruski British accent-its a goodie)

She and Gilkes were seen holding hands in March as they visited an art gallery in Beverly Hills and made no attempt to hide their closeness from the cameras.

Although that was the first clear hint of a potential romance between them, they were also spotted together at Los Angeles airport in January.

Gilkes, who lives in New York, co-founded online art auction house Paddle8 in 2010 and briefly employed Princess Eugenie – who he refers to as ‘Eug’.

Paddle8, pioneered a new era of fine art trading, with online auctions for the ‘middle market’ of $100,000 or less.

He married New York fashion designer Misha Nonoo in 2012, but they split in 2016.

He is understood to have become friends with Prince William when they were both at Eton and is also said to be close with Prince Harry, who also went to the school.

Eugenie and her sister Beatrice were both at Gilkes’s 2012 wedding where US pop star Lana Del Rey performed. He attended Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank on Saturday.

Pippa Middleton, thought to be a former flame of his younger brother Charlie, and James Middleton were also at the wedding, while his friends are said to include Sir Elton John, Madonna and Eddie Redmayne.
