The Nigerian Army has announced the appointment of 147 officers to man key positions in the various divisions and formations.

The Army says the appointments is to enable it to re-strategies in tackling the security challenges in the country.

Under the new arrangement, Major General AM Dikko, is the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division, Kaduna, while the former GOC, Major General Oyebade, becomes Chief of Logistics (COLOG), at the Army Headquarters.

Major General Leo Irabor, is now the Field Commander, Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), while Major General I Attahiru is the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole.

Also appointed are Major General PJ Dauke, who is now GOC, 81 Division, Brigadier General BI Ahanotu, Acting GOC 3 Division, Brigadier General IM Yusuf, Acting GOC 7 Division and Brigadier General SO Olabanji, Acting GOC 8 Task Force Division.

Major-General RO Yusuf, is now the Commander Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Minna, while Major General EB Oyefolu, is Commander, Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC), Kontagora.

Others are Brigadier General MG Ali, Commandant Nigerian Army Special Forces School Buni Yadi, Brigadier General IM Obot is Brigade Commander 26 Task Force Brigade and Brigadier-General AO Quadri, Commander, 25 Task Force Brigade.

A statement by the director army public relations, Brigadier-General Sani Usman, said the posting released by the Office of the Military Secretary (Army), is in a bid to re-strategize, and strengthen its operations.
