Things are looking up for the Super Eagles ahead of their next Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier at home against Algeria with the return of Germany based Leon Balogun.
Balogun was injured before the last Sunday opener against Zambia, a situation that saw Eagles German tactician drafting defensive midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi to play from the right side of the Eagles defense in Ndola.
According to the official website of Balogun’s club, Mainz, the 28-year old player has fully recovered from the injury which he copped in September and ready for selection in this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against his former side Darmstadt 98.
“Jairo Samperio returned to team training having recovered from his injury and is now available for selection for the upcoming matches. Fabian Frei and Leon Balogun also returned to the training ground. The injury list is getting shorter,” the club’s website disclosed.
Balogon’s recovery means the player could feature for the Super Eagles next month when they face Algeria in the Fifa World Cup qualifying round at the Uyo Nest of Champions.
