‘Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr said he would be delighted to have the team return to Lagos and Abuja but lamented that the National Stadium in Surulere is not ready to receive the team.

The coach, while speaking at Peak Breakfast with Rohr organised by HS Media Group in Lagos recently, said it’s only in Nigeria that the national team don’t play in the state capital.

“I like to play in Lagos or Abuja but the stadium are not available. There is no grass and the infrastructure is not there. Lagos should be able to receive the Super Eagles but I need good grass,” he said.

“The players prefer pitches and adequate security. Sadly, Asaba is not preferred by the players because the grass is still not as good as Uyo,” he said.
