Amaka, a graduate of Crop Science from Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) emphasised the importance of foreign investment in the Nollywood.
According to her, Nollywood is in need of support from international investors to be able to compete in the global market.
Nigerian artists are highly talented and it can’t be over stressed. For example, directors and sound engineers are good and great at their crafts. The Nigerian business circuit through the Bank of Industry (BOI) also strives to create an enabling environment since some artistes cannot do it alone. “ We have people that have great intellect worth millions of dollars but they are lying fallow on their book shelves or computers.
We need international investors to bring their wealth of experience in terms of movies and content creation so that business of Return On Investment (ROI) will not be a wasted effort. The foreign investor would in turn train and encourage local investors to grow and invest in their people.
