It’s Readers’ Day! Herewith a few of the numerous reactions; enjoy it:
Your write up of Mon 5 Sept., 2016 entitled, ‘That Islamic Republic of Nigeria’ served as  a tantalizing, re-energizing spiritual pepper soup laced with hard truths, which Christians in Nigeria today must sip if we must change to impact on Nigeria positively for the glory of God. It is high time believers awoke out of slumber to face the stark realities before us. To fear the son of the bondwoman and the carnal weapons they carry is to reduce the potency of our great God to change things in our favour. The fear of islamisation without efforts at evangelisation is a failure in our responsibility. Thank God for men like you and may God help us.

Thank you for your soul searching write-up. He who has ears, let him hear; the truth must be told. The Church in Nigeria has gone berserk in pursuit of Mammon.

Brilliant piece, but one significant point: True, the Lord commanded Peter to sheath his sword. But note that he didn’t question his right to hold a sword. He merely noted that it was not the moment to use it. I think we must make allowance for the right to self-defence. For Christians to lie down and be slaughtered, they and their children, has no place in Biblical and moral theology.

Beloved, God is raising a witness for Himself. Keep at it! God will distinguish the godly from the ungodly in His church, especially leaders who have sold themselves to evil and love of money. Come Lord Jesus. I pray God’s grace be with you. IJN, Amen.

You almost got me converted by your article, “That Islamic Republic of Nigeria”. It was great and I think our problem is I-do-not-care attitude to our Christian faith. Most of us cannot see beyond our immediate circumstance. I believe radical prayers are needed by us to shake heavens and make angelic warriors to fight the battle. We pray that our people will wake up to the realities of Christian faith. My regards.

Tayo was not alone, in doubting your being a true Christian on “That Islamic Republic of Nigeria (1)”. It was in the opening paragraph of my rejoinder to you on it. I hope Tayo would be privileged to read your second part, which contains relevant Biblical quotations on the subject matter. Without Christ’s silent intervention, which made Nigerian Christians to adopt patience over their tribulations, in various forms, by now the story would have been worse than it is. You really defended your faith in the second edition; on a sound research into the Holy Bible. Remember, that war is initiated by word. So stir not the unbelievers to war by offensive words against them but pray for forgiveness of their iniquities; as quoted in your piece always. More grease.

Kudos, Okorocha
I know what people will say, reading this. Now, this arch-critic of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has been bought over; that is why he is now singing the governor’s praise. Either that or that he is posturing to be noticed by the governor and settled.
Well, I am sorry to disappoint them. Criticising Okorocha has never been because of man. In fact, I love him more than the sneaky sycophants around him and so, my endeavor to tell him the truth in order to make him a better governor. However, he is free to make of them whatever he wishes. But he also deserves to be appreciated when he does well.
I cannot but salute him for the courage he had to broker the recent surrender of Niger Delta Avengers in Imo State. I was worried when the militancy reared its ugly head in the core Igbo land, as I felt our enemies now have the fodder to further fuel their animosity for the Igbo and would not hesitate to replicate the pogrom of the 1960s ostensibly to stem militancy in the area.
How come Igbo militants were excluded from the amnesty programme of 2011? Does it mean that the people were less afflicted by the ravages of oil exploration in the area? Or was it just to prove once again that the Igbo are less Nigerian than others?
Whatever is the case, now that Okorocha has got the militants to lay down their arms, the onus is upon the government to right the wrongs of the past and I believe that Okorocha will do his best to ensure that this is done, at least, being the most senior APC member in east of the Niger.
Whether Okorocha succeeds or not though will not obviate the fact that the youths trust him enough to surrender to him; neither does it subtract from this noble deed. We must be wary not to be misled to entrap and deceive ourselves, thinking that what others do and get away, we too can; because Nigeria cares little whether the Igbo burn or roast.
