The Buhari Support Organisation (BSO), South East zone, has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in the recently concluded primary election who lost to close ranks and rally round Tony Nwoye who emerged the party’s candidate.

The group in a statement signed by the Enugu State Chairman,  Anike Nwoga, appealed to those he described as propagandists to “stop the campaign of calumny against Nwoye, who emerged from the only transparent party primaries among the three major political parties in Anambra State, ahead of the polls. APGA, PDP and even UPP primaries were marred by irregularities and breach of internal democracy tenets.”

The group called on APC members in the entire zone, as well as Anambra people to rally around Nwoye, assuring that his victory would usher the Igbo into mainstream politics.

“It is our candid view that it is high time the Igbo returned to the mainstream politics, enough of lamentation and complaints of marginalization from outside the ring. Our ancestors admonished us that when you’re not there, your yam is thrown off the fireside. In the same vein, we cannot forget the ageless lessons we learnt from the great Zik of Africa. If Zik were to be alive, he will vote for Nwoye who has at the National Assembly cultivated nationwide contacts which we need at this material time for development. Zik will put the collective interest of Ndigbo nationwide ahead of parochial interest,”the group said.
