An Assistant Inspector of Prisons, one Judith Nwadialo has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command over alleged involvement in the kidnap of one Roseline Okathe, whose family paid N500, 000ransom to secure her release.
The prison official who is attached to the Federal Prisons, Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state was arrested with two other suspects over the crime.
Public Relations Officer, SP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the arrest yesterday in Asaba said on August 14, 2016, the victim was kidnapped at PTI Junction, Warri and was released five days later on August 19, after the payment of N500, 000 ransom by her family.
Kalu explained that on September 15, a team of Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad (SAKS) while acting on a tip-off arrested two ladies, Nnoma John from Imo State but resident at Destar Hotel Asaba and Joy Simon from Mbiri, Delta State ,but resident at Agbor as accomplices to the kidnap gang.

According to the police image maker, Nwadialo was later arrested, adding that investigation further revealed that the prison official is an accomplice to a kidnap kingpin who was simply identified as Innocent and currently an inmate of the prisons at Ogwashi-Uku.
Kalu added that the suspected kidnap czar who allegedly uses multiple Sim cards of various networks specialises in online kidnap coordination/ransom negotiation from the prison.
She accused Innocent of having a hand in the numerous kidnap incidents within Warri axis and the abduction of another lady, Odion Haruna on September 11, 2016 in Ebrumede area of Warri.
She said that investigation was still ongoing, assuring that the culprits will be charged to court at the end.
