National Committee of Yoruba Youth (NCYY) and the coalition of civil society groups, has said those planning to stampede President Muhammadu Buhari out of office are political merchants and enemies of Nigeria.

Making its reaction known following a recent suit brought before an Abuja Federal High Court, asking for a Senate order to constitute a medical board that will probe the health status of the president, the coalition said the faceless groups and partisan individuals, calling on the president to resign on health grounds have sinister motives. 

NCYY National President, Oladimeji Odeyemi, in company with other officials, at a press conference in Lagos, recently, said Buhari has fulfilled the constitutional responsibility of transmitting power to his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who is acting president, and has ensured there is no lacuna at the Presidency.  Odeyemi said the latest controversy is another in the series of attempts to underscore the numerous achievements of the present administration. “President Buhari and his team have worked tirelessly to restore hope and ensure the country’s fortune is achieved at the earliest possible time. Having come this far, in restoring our aspirations for a better Nigeria, we condemn in the strongest terms possible, efforts by these persons, to stampede Mr. President our of office, at a time, that he is speedily recovering and requires our collective prayers…”
