From: Emmanuel Uzor, Abakaliki The Ebonyi State police command, on Thursday, paraded seven suspected members of a dreaded syndicate caught in various crimes ranging from car snatching, armed robbery, cultism and unlawful possession of ammunition of arms in the state. Parading the suspects before journalists in Abakaliki, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Jude Madu, said the suspects were apprehended at various locations in the state through police sting operations. He said the members of the car snatching gang, Kingsley Onubo and Okechukwu Chika, were arrested on information that a black Toyota Camry with registration number; LSD 302 AN was recovered from them by the police. He stated that the robbery suspect, Uchenna Kelechi, who was arrested at Agubata Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area of the state, specialises in robing members of the public at gun point. Madu disclosed that the dreaded cultists, Emeka Onwe and Chinonso Oge, who have been terrorising residents of Ohaukwu with their nefarious activities were arrested in the area with assorted arms and ammunition as well as military camouflage. “This dreaded cultists in Ngbo, Ohaukwu have been given us wahala and the have been attacking and dispossessing people of their belongings with their arms” He said the command had launched offensive manhunt for the remaining members of the criminal gang while assuring that the suspects would be charged to court as investigations continue. |
