The city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, will be agog as Nigeria’s foremost telecommunications company, Glo, holds two mega shows.

The event is tagged Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour and Glo Laffta Fest.

The two shows would also go round other major cities across the length and breath of Nigeria.

In an informal chat with media practitioners, on Thursday,  in  Port Harcourt,  Globacom’s Head of Operations, Mr. Bisi Koleosho, said the two shows had been specially packaged to thrill fun seekers across NIgeria for a total of six months.

Koleosho said Glo Mega Music would feature Grade-A music and comedy artistes, while Glo Laffta Fest, on its part would showcase some of Africa’s talented stand-up comics.

He said popular musicians and comedians would feature in the two shows that would start on April 7 and 9.

Koleosho disclosed: “Highly talented musicians like Olamide, Flavour, Runtown, Omawumi, Yemi Alade, PSquare, Phyno, Timaya, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Di’Ja and  Kiss Daniel have been penned down to perform.

“Comedians to grace the Glo Laffta Fest stage include Gordons, Basketmouth, Bovi, Salvador from Uganda, I Go Dye, Dan D Humorous, Bash, Seyi Law, Omobaba, Acapella, Senator, Helen Paul, Osama, Princewill, Mr Patrick, Frank D Don, MC Tagwaye, Kenny Blaq, Funky Mallam, Arinze Baba, 2CanTalk, Maleke, Still Ringing and AB Simple”.

According to the Globacom official,   the   Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour and Glo Laffta Fest comedy shows would commence on April 7 across 27 Nigerian cities.

He further disclosed that Benin city would host the debut  Glo Mega Music Concert on Friday, April 7, at the Best Western Hotel, Etete Layout, Benin City, while the first Glo Laffta Fest would hold  at the Eko Hotels Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday, April 9.

Globacom explained that the two shows would run concurrently mainly on Saturdays and Sundays, with the Glo Mega Music Concert holding on Saturdays, and  Glo Laffta Fest show  on Sundays.

“The shows will also  hold in Ikeja, Ikorodu, FESTAC and Ajah all in Lagos, Awka, Owerri, Asaba, Calabar, Enugu, Aba, Port Harcourt, Suleja, Kubwa and FCT, all in Abuja, Ibadan, Ijebu Ode, Abeokuta, Ekpoma, Kaduna, Akure, Lokoja, and Ayingba”.

Fielding questions from journalists,  the Globacoms’ Head of Operations,  said adequate arrangements had been made with security agents to ensure a hitch-free events.
